Chartreuse is light. In fact, every color is an expression of light. But Chartreuse is not every color. It is both classic and modern. You might find it on pillows placed strategically on a sleek brown couch in a hip Manhattan loft. If caught in a time warp, you might find it on kitchen countertops, curtains covered with prints of vibrant citrus fruit, or on the lamps shown above. The uniqueness and evocative aspects of this color are inspiring. It's why we chose Chartreuse as our name.

We obviously like the color, but we know it's not for everyone!

Chartreuse is a mountain range in eastern France. But it is not just any mountain range. It is a diverse terrain of picturesque rolling countryside and farmland set against breathtaking 2000 meter-high peaks. It is dotted with inviting French manors and comfortable village homes. The region is alive with the sounds of nature and lively banter in a romance language we adore. Chartreuse is charming and quaint, worldly and full of history. It's why we chose Chartreuse as our name.

Not one of us has been there, but hopefully we'll make it a field trip someday.

Chartreuse is a naturally green-colored liqueur. But it is not just any liqueur. It's a strong blend of 130 herbs and spices dating back to 1600. Chartreuse was created initially as an elixir for long-life and then produced in quantity by Carthusian monks of the Chartreuse region. Today, only 3 brothers know the entire secrets on how to make this intoxicating blend of green liquid fire. It's distinct, fast-acting, long-lasting, and fun. It's why we chose Chartreuse as our name.

Please don’t get the wrong idea; We keep the intake to a minimum.
